Hi! I'm Kari Simonson and I am excited to join the team at Sierra Vista Elementary! I have over twenty years in the education field having served as a classroom teacher, program director and coach for Walnut Valley Unified and Irvine Unified.
My education consists of a B.A. from CSU Fullerton, M.A; Teaching and Single Subject Credentials from Chapman University and most recently I received my M.A. Ed; School Counseling and PPS Credential from Concordia University. This spring, I will be returning to school to pursue an advanced degree in Clinical Counseling with a MFT and LPCC license. I believe in the power of being a life-long learner!
I am a mom to a high-schooler and second grader, my husband is a small business owner and we live in Orange County. I also have an extensive background as a dancer, performer and choreographer.
As your school counselor, I work with all students in the areas of social-emotional development, academic achievement and college/career support. I believe in the power of kindness and that all students are capable of achieving greatness and becoming the next generation of leaders!
